Please help us clear snow form the school on Sunday from 2-3 pm

4 Dec

‘m sure that we are all hoping that the school will open on Monday. Having had a walk around yesterday afternoon, it is evident that the janitor has made progress on clearing a path around the school and to the door. Unfortunately, the car park hasn’t been cleared, and neither Prieston Road nor the public car park over the footbridge have been dug out so parking is going to be a real problem for teachers.

So, can I suggest a snow clearing party at the school on Sunday from 2-3.

Bring a shovel and the kids and I’ll bring some mince pies. If we can get a few folk together, we should be able to make a real difference in an hour or so.

Please tell all your friends and neighbours.

Hope to see you there

TRIM TRAIL

The trim trail has been delivered and is waiting to be installed. Alastair Christie will liaise directly with the school regarding the installation of the trim trail. Once installed a risk assessment should be carried out by PKC Health and Safety Officer.

An opening ceremony was discussed – possibly to be held on a Friday morning?

Photos should be taken and provided to the Perthshire Advertiser for some publicity.

Initially a rota will be used by the school so that each class gets a fair share of the trail.

COMMUNICATIONS

It was felt that the group is communicating much better with parents and pupils regarding our activities, but we could do with more volunteers. It was agreed that we could try to recruit some parents at the open evening on Monday 20th September.

Action Points: Geoff to design flyer/poster and slide show of photos for open evening.

NEXT MEETING: MONDAY 25TH OCTOBER, 7.30PM, BANKFOOT INN

First Meeting for the 2010 – 2011 Session

1 Sep
Dear All
I thought it was about time we held our first meeting for the 2010-2011 school year. Last year was a good one for us and the school and I’d like to replicate the success this session if at all possible.

I’ve pencilled in Monday 13th September 7:30 @ The Bankfoot Inn – could you please confirm your attendance
Below is a draft agenda with a few notes:

1. Update on the trim trail installation
The trails has been delivered to Top Head Farm and Alistair Christie is going to install it, once PKC have sorted out the purchase order paperwork. This may have happened by the time of the meeting.
Are we going to have a formal opening?

2. Office bearer proposals / elections / confirmations
There was a bit of discussion towards the end of last session about folk being interested in taking on the various roles. If we want to make changes, and there is no reason why we shouldn’t, then it would be useful if folk could come to the meeting with suitable proposals and with the relevant suport from other committee members.

3. Events for 2010 – 2011
How many events do we want to run?
What are our priorities – which make the most money and are the most fun / easiest to run?
How should we phrase the questions to the parents?
Confirmation of pre-christmas dates?

4. Spend priorities for 2010 – 2011
Can we confirm our ongoing commitments (Books, P7 Leaving event etc.)
Any specific requests from the school?
Communication with parents etc.

5. Communications
Are we doing enough or toom much of the right sort?

6. AOB
