FAS Update – October

Spend priorities: Thanks again for all the feedback forms on events and spend priorities. The common theme in the returns was for equipment for outside. As a result, our priorities for this year will be:

1. Providing a better surface for the current section of trim trail;
2. Buying and installing more sections of trim trail; and
3. Investigating the options for a pergola / outside classroom facility.

Once we have had a site survey carried out, we will be consulting with the school committees on their preferences for trim trail components.

In addition, we will be providing money for books and looking at the possibilities of running some form of arts events using external performers.

Halloween Disco: This year’s Halloween disco will take place on Friday 30^th October. Nursery – P3 6:00 – 7:15, P4 – P7 7:30 – 9:00. £1.50 entry. There will be games, music and tuck shop. Come in fancy dress and bring a pumpkin!

Bingo Tea: The next Bingo Tea is planned for Wednesday November 18^th. Doors open at 6:00 eyes down at 6:30. ALL WELCOME. £2.00 for adults, £1.00 for children. We need donations for raffle prizes in advance to the school office and home baking on the night. Look out for the posters and flyers and tell all your friends!

Christmas is coming: I know its only October, but some of you will want to get organised for Christmas soon. We will be doing two things this year:

1. The hampers – we will need donations to make them up and will be in touch in November about when to bring them in; and
2. Aprons – we are going to be selling aprons, which have you child’s picture as a design on them. They will make perfect Christmas presents for grandparents, aunties and uncles and neighbours. The school will be organising the drawing of the pictures. They will be for sale at around £7.50 each. Again, we will be back in touch with more details as soon as we have them.

FAS Committee: The next FAS meeting is planned for 7:30 on Monday 9^th November in the Bankfoot Inn. We are always on the look out for new members, so if you’d like to get involved, please contact me through the school office.

FAS Update – September 2009

Feedback forms – Thanks very much for all the feedback forms on events and spend priorities. We will be reviewing them formally at the next FAS meeting in October, but there are some very clear messages about how we might improve some of our events and what things you would like us to spend money on. I’ll provide a more complete report in the October update.

School uniform orders – Please return all order forms for uniform to the school by 23rd October.
